From dominating the show scene up to the mid sixties, by the early eighties, these bloodlines were on the decline. 
The reason for the decline can be summed up in one word - "Teal".  From the moment he arrived in Adelaide in 1968, English Show Champion Moorcliff Freetwood Gamecock was a roaring success with BIS  at his first show, the "Adelaide Royal"  in 1968.  Not surprising, as he had been one of the UK's biggest winners, all breeds, prior to his export.

Teal was accompanied on his long voyage by Moorcliff Pintail and she produced a litter en route by Teals English kennel mate Ch Moorcliff Dougal of Truelindale.  Their new owner was Mr Brian Nelson of the "Oak" kennels in Adelaide and with the help of two well known and talented handlers he created a legend and founded a dynasty!  Several kennels, still in existence today, started off with an "Oak" springer and in their  turn they begat other successful kennels.

 One of Teal's handlers Mrs Marie Merchant (Nee Forester), began the world famous "Clanachs " with Oak Sword Dancer.  In Victoria, John and Lily Tulloch used Teal and Oak Sprig o' Heather, with great success, to produce the "Cranloch" springers of which their own Ch Cranloch Dalriada and Phil and Marie Merchant's Ch Cranloch Argyle Bruce, the winner of many Specialities, were two of the most well known, Bruce being another Adelaide BIG winner. 
Further afield in NSW, Ch Oak Game Law in the ownership of Mrs E Westbrook produced several Champions under the Crawney prefix including the Speciality BIS winner Ch Crawney Crusader.  Crusader was by none other than Teal and was owned by the "Marsden" partnership of Edwards and Warburton.  Ch Oak Vulcan and

Ch Cranloch Dalriada

Ch Cranloch Culloden Lass went to the Keely family in Canberra (whose prefixes have included Carlaminda, Clonbar and Alhambra).  A Teal daughter and granddaughter,  born within a couple of months of each other in 1972 went to David and Stephanie  Rickard and thus Wongan was born.  One Cranloch bitch "Camora" even went travelling overseas with her owner Phillip McNally and whilst in England, en route back home, was mated to the 1984 Crufts BOB Freeway Indian Summer, a descendant of "Doc".  (This union was responsible for amongst others Ch Windmere Summer Knight, a speciality BIS winner who is behind quite a lot of winners today). 

Ch Cranloch Argyle Prince

Of course, Teal was not just put to English bred bitches, although they certainly formed a high percentage of his lady visitors.  In 1970 he was put to Ch Casa Perez Dona Minerva and produced a dog Ch Maidenvak Sabueso C.D, who was one of the first Springers for May and John Peters of "Drumhill" fame (whose line still goes back to this dog.)

Ch Special Edition of Cleavehill (Imp UK)

 In the mid seventies, Gina Tissington imported, from the UK, a dog of quite different English bloodlines to Teal.  The dual UK CC winner Aus Ch Special Edition of Cleavehill was a black, white and tan and was mainly used over descendants of Doc, Samson and Mystery.  When mated to Hilrays Aurora (Imp USA), he produced Ch Ardroch Mocha Liqueur, a big winner of his day, but his presence was most notable in the Wyngarde  Springers, a forerunner of the Cudgera Kennels, of more modem times.
